United Way of Dodge County Honors Peter A. Jung With $25,355 in Food Pantry Awards

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. — 9/17/2026 — United Way of Dodge County is proud to announce that 19 food pantries and hunger-relief organizations will each receive $1,334.49, for a total community investment of $25,355.31. The awards were made possible through a generous stock donation from Cheryl Jung in honor of her late husband, Peter A. Jung.

The gift began with a conversation about how Cheryl Jung, could honor Peter while making a meaningful impact on food pantries throughout Dodge County. With local pantries experiencing increased demand and rising food costs, supporting organizations that help feed individuals and families was identified as a fitting way to carry Peter’s legacy forward.

“This gift represents the kind of lasting community impact we strive to create,” said Dr. Bryce Remy, president of United Way of Dodge County. “Cheryl came to us with the idea of honoring Peter by addressing food insecurity throughout Dodge County. Working together, we were able to process the gift so that 100% of the donation received will go directly to the 19 organizations making an immediate difference in our communities. Because United Way of Dodge County is entirely volunteer-run and has no paid employees, we can ensure this generous gift has the greatest possible impact. Peter’s legacy will help stock pantry shelves and provide food for neighbors throughout Dodge County.”

The following organizations will each receive an award of $1,334.49:

• The Gathering Source — Juneau

• Waupun Area Food Pantry — Waupun

• Ashippun Bread Basket Food Pantry — Ashippun

• Beaver Dam Community Food Pantry — Beaver Dam

• Dodge County Food Pantry – St. Vincent de Paul — Beaver Dam

• Food Is Free – Beaver Dam — Beaver Dam

• Loaves & Fishes – First Lutheran Church — Beaver Dam

• Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry — Beaver Dam

• Columbus/Fall River Food Pantry — Columbus

• Sacred Heart Parish — Horicon

• St. Stephen’s Food Pantry — Horicon

• Lomira Area Food Pantry — Lomira

• Christian Life Fellowship Church — Mayville

• Community Pantry — Mayville

• Watertown Food Pantry — Watertown

• Watertown Moravian Church — Watertown

• Geno’s Pantry — Watertown

• Watertown Family Aid — Watertown

Each recipient may use its award to purchase food and other essential items based on the needs of the people it serves. Together, these organizations form a critical network that supports children, families, older adults and individuals experiencing food insecurity across Dodge County.

Jung will be remembered not only through the businesses he built and the people who knew him, but also through the many neighbors who will receive help because of this generous contribution.”
